Everything you want to talk about that doesn't fit to other categories.

comp.os.vms is not toast. You just need a newsreader and a NNTP service.

Lot of people use Thunderbird and eternal-septamber.

This is a good place but to access comp.os.vms in addtion to a newsreader, there is also the INFO-VAX email gateway to comp.os.vms and the corresponding NOTEs conference on eisner.encompasserve.org

I do not think a newsreader is a good option at the moment. There the news group is dominated by perverts. Better to use info-vax, where those messages are blocked.

Some NNTP server admins has implemented spam filters and kept there servers "reasonable" clean from spam.

I don't think VSI would appreciate some of the content posted on c.o.v.

True.

Computer stuff unrelated to VMS. Personal chit chat. Very negative view on VMS and VSI. Etc..

In regards to comp.os.vms, we at VSI do not follow what they do there all that much. We certainly do not regulate or moderate anything there. We encourage anyone who has questions or issues or suggestions for or about VMS to use means of communication that we support, especially this forum, which has been inviting and helpful to new and old users alike to VMS.
