OpenVMS under an OpenBSD VM
This is probably a stretch. Has anyone experimented with running OpenVMS for x86 using OpenBSD's vmm(4)/vmd(8)? I know it won't have any official support.

Re: OpenVMS under an OpenBSD VM
Can you not install KVM/QEMU on FreeBSD? KVM is supported

Re: OpenVMS under an OpenBSD VM
Well, FreeBSD does have more robust storage facilities compared to OpenBSD. I've used FreeBSD on and off since 1995. I've become fond of OpenBSD in the last few years though. That's why I was curious about the OpenBSD VMM as an alternative to KVM. It sounds like if any OpenBSD experimentation is going on, it's not being reported on. I'll give it a try sometime soon. I'll post my findings once I have some.

Re: OpenVMS under an OpenBSD VM
KVM is not supported under FreeBSD. KVM is a Linux kernel-specific facility, however there was a port of KVM to one of the OpenSolaris forks at some point in time. Not sure if that KVM port is still supported.
The equivalent for FreeBSD is called Bhyve. I believe it supports a far narrower range of operating systems than KVM does.
