This will be interesting.
It's definitely necessary to support some elements of paravirtualisation for example reboots and shutdowns via paravirtualised drivers (vmtools in VMware).
And I wonder if there are plans to support a video console, since at least in VMware setting up a serial port over IP is not trivial (and very annoying in the vCenter web GUI).

I thought they were always focused on producing a VMware version before the bare metal version. Adding 2 more hypervisors to the matrix is probably easier that coming up with a reasonable supported hardware list for native execution.

We are supporting VBox, KVM, and VMware during Field Test and will continue to for the 9.2 release. We recently started investigating what it will take to support Hyper-V but that will come after 9.2.
