BASIC on X86?
BASIC on X86?
Not sure it it comes with the distribution kit or if it's a layered product that isn't available yet. There is a license in the PAK for it, but I have not been able to install it from the instalation media, nor have I seen a download for it in the Service Portal. Maybe the compiler executable is hidden somewhere I haven't looked?

Re: BASIC on X86?
I havn't checked, but I would not expect Basic to be the only "missing" product from the license file.

Re: BASIC on X86?
We got C, C++, Fortran and Pascal.
We are still waiting for Cobol, Basic, Java and Python.

Re: BASIC on X86?
As others have said, there currently is no BASIC compiler (either as a cross-compiler or native-compiler). It is definitely on the list. It is all due to a technical reason (ie, the BASIC frontend generates very non-standard GEM symbol tables that we didn't expect - we have a design change in the works). We certainly know that many customers depend on BASIC and we're working as quickly as we can.
The native COBOL compiler is "in the oven"

Re: BASIC on X86?
According to a post in comp.os.vms then OpenJDK 8u372 should also be actively in the works.
