Community license PAK file

Post by dmjb » Tue Apr 04, 2023 2:09 pm

I received access to the x86 VMS community downloads yesterday. One thing I am unclear on is where I can find the PAK file. For Alpha, I received it via email. Will they be emailed out for x86 as well?

there should be a download of X86CommunityPAK, or something similar.

just out of curiousity, how did you get access? I can't select X86 in the registration form.

EDIT: not meant in a pushy way, just not sure if i missed something

I'm in your boat, so I know nothing, but I gather that they're
contacting current Community members in some orderly (that is, slow)
way. Might be a limited test phase. Given the potential drain on
resources, not suddenly offering universal access might make some sense.

If you did, at least you're not alone.

I found it in the service platform under Packages.

Sure enough. I can _see_ it, along with X86092OE and some compilers,
and so on.

Sadly, my Service Platform credentials haven't let me download
anything since the end of the E9.2 field test, some months ago. I
suppose that if you had no Service Platform credentials, you'd suffer
only a high-level frustration, not even being able to see what you can't
get.

Under Support Issues I can see where someone reported not being able to download anything and it was updated as resolved soon after, so give Report Issue a try.

Not all the 1,000+ community accounts are activated at once, rather they are being done in batches on Friday's.
