You never provided information about the virtualization software used.
I'm using VMware Workstation Player 16.2.3 and SMP$GL_MAX_CPUID always correlates with the no. of vCPUs defined for the VM. But my PC only has 6 cores anyway...

It's logged with Case ID : SPS-577 but it's in "Awaiting QA Verification" state since then.

Can't you add a Comment in that state ? That's how I would try to get in contact with VSI support again.
Or log a new case and refer to the old log number.
