(9857) Third-Party Hardware? (DECserver)

Post by User » Sun Sep 26, 2004 9:26 am

We have a substantial ethernet and fddi network in our auto plant. Our network monitoring software (BMC Patrol) regularly pings all our DECserver 90M terminal servers. The DECservers frequently do not respond to the pings. Our network support group is asking if the ethernet card on the DECserver 90M is configured as full-duplex or half-duplex.

Is the DECserver 90M ethernet interface full-duplex or half-duplex? Is this configurable?

Regards,
Rob

Please contact Vnetek Communications LLC, the organization that now owns and supports the DECserver product and product line.

Do expect that Vnetek will likely ask for details such as the firmware version, should this be a problem with the ICMP implementation in a particular DECserver device.

Classic 10 megabit Ethernet devices are normally half-duplex, as the OpenVMS Wizard is certain you and your networking group are well aware. For a related discussion, please see topic (6421) for OpenVMS details, and particularly see topic (4658).

For details of the DECserver product line, please contact DNPG.
