The OpenVMS Wizard will assume you realize that CRC errors tend
to indicate corrupted data packets.

Network, LAN, cabling or other hardware-level errors, most commonly,
are the triggers for CRC errors.

It is also possible that network traffic can be corrupted by errant
routing hardware, firmware or software; by errors within hardware,
firmware or software commonly found present within most networks.

It is also possible for electromagnetic interference (EMI) can trigger
CRC errors. This can be a result of excessive levels of EMI, or can
result from miswired twisted-pair cabling, or from damaged shielding
on wiring or devices, or from misrouted power and data signals; by
data corruptions introduced into the network physical layer by EMI.

Please contact your prefered network or hardware support vendor for
assistance in troubleshooting this, or contact HP Services directly.

Please also ensure your OpenVMS system has the most current ECO kits
installed, and please seriously consider an upgrade to a (far) more
current OpenVMS release.
