(9810) Third-party Hardware? (PrintServer)

Post by User » Thu Sep 09, 2004 9:26 am

I have a old Printserver 17 printer that is currently printing through decnet
using dcps. We need to convert to IP printing if we can. Using lps$console I
was able to give this printsevrer a ip address and gateway address.

Can I print to this via a telnet queue and if so what port would I use. I can't
find any doc's on this.

If I can't use a telnet queue would I use LPD or raw tcp/ip. Which of these two
cases would work and what would I do to set up the queue and the comminucations.

A PrintServer 17 printer with an IP address can be accessed via a
TCP/IP LPD queue, or via a DCPS CPAP or LPD queue.

Telnet cannot be used.

See the DCPS documentation for instructions on setting up a queue with
IP_CPAP as the protocol.
