Python, Wheels and a Roadmap?

Post by brianlinuxing » Fri Jan 24, 2025 4:41 pm

Hello,

I am just playing with the V9.2-2 X86 implementation.

It is great. :)

The Python install went well and the Wheels too. Got the AWSCLI bit installed, thanks!

But I wonder is there a roadmap or something for Python and the Wheels?

I am very, very keen to get Python going, fully, on OpenVMS

Had fun running a little benchmark (Python 3.10 on OpenVMS V9.2-2 under VirtualBox on Bodhi Linux on a 13-year-old i7)

python pystone3fixed.py
Pystone(1.1) time for 50000 passes = 7.16993
This machine benchmarks at 6973.57 pystones/second

Cheers, Brian
