VSI VMS IDE is an extension that enables you to quickly and easily develop comprehensive applications for OpenVMS systems. It provides a set of tools for developing, building, and debugging OpenVMS projects.

VMS IDE is built on top of Microsoft Visual Studio Code, a light-weight but powerful cross-platform source code editor.

Main Features :

- Source code synchronization between the local machine and OpenVMS system.
- SSH connection setup to remote OpenVMS system (no agent is required)
- Projects Explorer as a simple and convenient way to manage OpenVMS projects.
- Debugger for OpenVMS projects.
- Syntax highlighting for MMS, CLD, and MSG files.
- Code autocompletion for MSG and CLD files.
- Freely available (download extensions from Microsoft Marketplace).
- It works with Alpha, Integrity and x86.
- It can be used on Windows, Mac and some Linux.
- It works with VSCodium and other Visual Studio Code.
