Hobbyist License - issue saving configuration

Post by apal » Mon Jul 15, 2019 7:20 am

Hi,

I have successfully installed the Hobbyist License from https://training.vmssoftware.com/hobbyist on Windows 10 Pro 64 bit

However, when I use the Virtual Alpha Configuration Utility and try save to the configuration I encounter the attached error.

We believe the issue is with FreeAXP not liking spaces.

Hope you can help.

Regards,

Anthony

Hi,

It turns out that Virtual Alpha Configuration Utility does not like the configuration file included in the Student Package altogether – we will try and fix that in the next revision.

Meanwhile please create a new configuration file and there manually add the Student Package image file (go to the pci6 tab and choose the OpenVMS Student Package.img file). Save the new file and run the emulation.

Please let us know if this works.

Or load the .cfg file into a text editor and make all filenames fully-specified, as requested. The configuration utility doesn't like filenames without a path, it seems.

Hi,
