Samba V4.10-16D problem

Post by greg@tssolutions.com.au » Tue Jun 04, 2024 9:31 am

Using samba with a homes shares, I.e. user.

Can upload files fine, both text and binary.
However am not able to download the file using samba but the file is fine downloaded using ftp. Get an windows11 unspecified error.

From a log file

[2024/06/04 15:13:38.531978, 0] SRC_SMB_X86:[SAMBA_VMS.vms.vfs.varvfc]vfs_varvfc.c;1:151()

varvfc_open: VMS absolute path: 'DISK$USER1:[000000]GRT.DIR;1'.
[Tue Jun 4 15:13:38 2024] [daemon] [err] (00000665) SAMBA$SMBD.EXE: varvfc_open: VMS absolute path: 'DISK$USER1:[000000]GRT.DIR;1'.

Tried scp but it added an extra \n for each \n....

Any ideas?

Hi Greg. If this on an x86 host, sounds like you've hit a known issue. Others report being able to download only small files (less than 60KB). Engineering is working on it.

Regards,

Paul
