Looking for portable FAO

Looking for portable FAO (C is preferred). Any pointers ?

Do you mean an implementation of SYS$FAO that could be used on other operating systems or do you mean something else?

Eh, my current live are under "Snake-oil OS" ...
For some "my local" project FAO\FAOL is more useful then PRINTF.

Yep, sure, I meant SYS$FAO, I browse VMS-source and see only MACRO. But, I recollect that some time ago I have seen some "FAO-like" source. May be Matt Maddison, may be in FreeVMS ... cannot remember.

The OSU web server has an ss_emul.c module that emulates sys$faol. The comments say it supports directives !Sx !Ux !Ox !%S !%D !%T !AS !AZ !AC !AD !AF !n*c (x := B | W | L).
