A new Community VMDK will be released in March 2025 at the latest. If resources and time free up we will try to get out a new VMDK sooner than this.

If resources allow it then I think a quarterly update of the VMDK would be great.
New people may join CLP during the year.
annual update:
* 0-12 months left of license
* 0-12 months old software
quarterly update:
* 9-12 months left of license
* 0-3 months old software
The latter seems way more attractive for new users. And more attractive for VSI as well, because one of the benefits of CLP is to have users report bugs *before* paying customer get hit in production, which means that CLP users need to be ahead of the serious usage version wise.
I completely understand that VSI has limited resources and tough prioritization is needed.

I genuinely don’t understand VSI’s decision to package the VMDK for community users. Surely it would’ve been easier to provide the licences, give access to the latest kits and say “RTFM”…
I’m probably just weird in liking doing (and debugging) software installations.
