x86 Community ISO?
x86 Community ISO?
Hi,
I am new here but i managed to run the Student package (the Windows installer which emulated a Alpha system)
but i want to checkout the x86 9.2 version but cannot find the community iso. I enrolled for the Community version
for x86 but it seems there is no reliable information what i should do next to get the OpenVMS x86 UEFI install ISO.
Does anybody has a few hints or tips how to proceed at this point?

Try to wait patiently for VSI to contact you?
E-mail from community@vmssoftware.com (Thu, 13 Apr 2023 19:10:07 GMT):
Subj: OpenVMS on x86 Community Update
Please find information below relating to the release of OpenVMS on x86
to the Community
Dear OpenVMS Community Members,
As an existing VMS Software Inc. Community Program member, you are being
granted access to the OpenVMS x86-64 E9.2-1 field test. All existing
Alpha and Integrity Community program members are automatically enrolled
in the x86 community program. Access to the x86 software and licensing
is being rolled out in a controlled release. The same mechanisms used to
supply software to VMS commercial customers are used for community
distribution. To ensure priority is given to commercial paying
customers, the community is being given access gradually. Access to the
OpenVMS x86-64 software and license will be rolled out to community
members over the next three months. X86 community membership gives
access to all the latest x86 OpenVMS software, including the E9.2-1
field test OpenVMS version, field test native compilers, and many
layered and Open Source products.
We are thrilled the x86 software is now available to the community. It
is up to you, the community members, to communicate, collaborate,
troubleshoot, and support each other for a vibrant community to thrive.
Use the VMS Forum [ https://forum.vmssoftware.com] as the communications
channel to other community members and to VMS Software, Inc. A VMS
software forum moderator will monitor the x86 community forum posts
weekly and elevate issues determined to be defects to VMS technical
support.
Community members are reminded NOT to use the VMS Customer Portal report
issue feature to send questions or raise issues to VMS Software. The
feature is for commercial customer use. The VMS Forum
[ https://forum.vmssoftware.com ] is the sole mechanism for all
communication. If you raise an issue via the Customer Portal, it will be
ignored. If you continue to use the portal to ask questions or report
problems, VMS Software will revoke your access to the portal.
Thank you for your continued interest in OpenVMS.
Best Regards,
The OpenVMS Community License Team

Re: x86 Community ISO?
Thanks but i am aware of this already.
I specifically asked for steps beyond and not simply parroting stuff.

Re: x86 Community ISO?
When you get the email, it will detail what you need to do next. It boils down to: going to the Service Portal site at sp.vmssoftware.com, selecting the Reset Password button, following the process with the email you registered. At that point, you will be able to download the ISO through the Service Portal site.
Re: x86 Community ISO?
Hello,
I am also trying to find the ISO, but I cannot find it in the portal. Everything is grayed out.
When I search for ISO, I get only one hit, but that one is grayed out, either.
So, my question is, how can I download the VMS ISO?
Regards,
Karl

Re: x86 Community ISO?
Which ISO are you after? Alpha, Integrity or the new X86 field test?

What's your (Service Platform) Organization? (Under your name, upper
right.) Did you get instructions from VSI?

The Package of interest is "X86E921OE". I don't know if a search for
"ISO" will find it. Its contents are:
X86E921OE.ZIP size 822.86 MB (862 833 120 bytes)
X86E921OE_MD5.TXT size 33 bytes

Got it. Thanks.......

You're welcome, but a more detailed description of what you needed to
do differently might have more value to some future reader. (Wrong
(Service Platform) Organization? Searching for wrong name? Other?)
