Virtual Box restriction, no cluster common system disk support

Research and experimentation with Virtual Box (VBox) supporting cluster common system disks (CCSD), uncovered technical issues. CCSD on VBox is a very large project that would take VSI engineering away from more important development and support priorities. Therefore, each clustered VBox VM will require its own system disk. We will update our documentation to reflect we do not currently plan on supporting the CCSD on VBox.

Is it a problem for some customers?

My assumption would be that:
- VirtualBox is used for development
- production (and test in production like environment) use KVM, VMWare or Hyper-V

And I do not see the big need for clustering at all in development.

Arne,

WADR, an erratum. Microsoft Hyper-V is not a supported VM for OpenVMS at this time.

True.

But it is on the roadmap - current roadmap says for 9.2 (which is first production release).
